The new Social Issues Bulletin is published today
The Affinity Social Issues Team publish a Bulletin three times a year which aims to inform the church on matters of social, ethical and legal concern for Christians. Each issue is free to download either as individual articles or the complete issue.
In the current edition we have the fifth and final essay by Sharon James on how Christianity has been a benefit to the wider world; this time she looks at the area of education. We also have an update from Simon Calvert on the attempts to ban so-called ‘conversion therapy’ and an article by two members of Care Not Killing on further moves to legalise assisted suicide. Dr John Ling gives us another of his really informative summaries of all things Covid, and then we publish an important piece by Melvin Tinker on the insidious rise of Cultural Marxism. Continuing the theme of Melvin’s article we have two book reviews, on Carl Trueman’s recent best-seller ‘The rise and triumph of the modern self’ and Rod Dreher’s ‘Live not by lies’. The Bulletin concludes, as always, with John Ling’s update on biomedical ethical matters and the Christian Legal Centre’s roundup of current cases in the courts:
Biblical Christianity’s Impact on Educational Provision
Banning Conversion Therapy or Banning the Gospel?
Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia: A Dangerous Path to Go Down
The Challenge of Cultural Marxism
Book review: The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self
