Thought of the Day – Monday

Here is the text of what Graham shared this morning:

Jesus says in Matthew chapter 6 that we should seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

This means that the thing you should want the very most, the top priority, is God’s kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all the other things you need will be given to you.

It starts by making sure you are in the kingdom of God.

There are many things you want to know about in your life – places you want to go, experiences you would like to have. You might even enjoy studying.

But whatever else you know or experience, make sure that you know for sure that you are part of the people of God under the rule of God.

We do that by putting all our hope and trust in Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for sinners like us; Jesus as the one who defeats death; Jesus who gives us the free gift of eternal life. Jesus is the wise and good leader we want to follow.

We become part of the kingdom of God by hearing about Jesus and saying, “I so want him to save me from my guilt and shame and I want to part of his army, part of his family, part of his body, with Jesus Christ as my leader.”
