Affinity Director visits Downing Street
Graham Nicholls, Affinity Director, writes:
On Wednesday 23 October, I was a guest at Number 10 Downing Street. The hour or so one-to-one meeting behind the famous black door took place with the Prime Minister’s Special Advisor for Faith Communities.
His role is to guide and inform Boris Johnson on what is happening in the faith communities of the UK. During our meeting, I was able to talk with him about the work of Affinity and some of our partners.
It is important for a strong evangelical voice to be heard within the heart of Government, and so I have offered to provide introductions to appropriate organisations and denominations within the Affinity network.
While sitting in one of the flats in Downing Street for this meeting I was able to hear the protesters outside campaigning on many causes, including Brexit. It was a reminder to me of how important it is that we pray for those working in Number 10, especially those who work on policy and its implementation.
