Wish you were here at Christmas

Crosslinks recently sent out a ‘wish you were here’ message on behalf of its mission partners in Europe:

Mulled wine, handmade gifts, carol singers – Europeans know how to put on a good Christmas market. But for the most part, our continental neighbours have forgotten the reason behind the celebration. So while many of our mission partners ‘wish you were here’ to share with them in the festive fun, they more urgently wish for your help in making Christ known.

From the Czech Republic, Jirka writes, ‘There are so few churches that base themselves on God’s word – most of those local to us have opened themselves up to liberalism. The Czech Republic has the highest percentage of atheists in all of Europe. This Christmas, we really do wish you were here.’

Trevor in Sweden shares, ‘Sweden has the fastest declining evangelical population in the world. Fewer and fewer churches want the Bible at the heart of their ministry. We’d love help with this work – we wish you were here!’
