Retirement of Don Gregson

We want to pay tribute to Don Gregson, who has decided to step down from his role as secretary to Affinity’s Word Focus Team, a position he has held since the team was formed eleven years ago. We would have been very pleased for Don to carry on but as he is fast approaching his 82^nd birthday, we felt that he deserves a bit of a rest!

After many years serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Don was brought in to help frame the newly-formed Affinity’s Mission Statement and its council’s Terms of Reference, and he also soon joined the World Focus Team. He and his wife Cherry together also set up the database for the ‘Find a Church’ facility on the Affinity website, probably its best-used feature.

Don writes, ‘The abiding memory is the joy of working alongside the three consecutive Directors, Jonathan Stephen, Peter Milsom and Graham Nicholls… Similarly, I have been blessed by fellowship with the pastors and mission leaders that have served on the World Focus Team down the past eleven years. Developing the Mission Resource Papers for the website was another highlight of my time on the Team. I am thankful that my association will continue, albeit at a reduced level, in the task of maintaining the Find a Church database. Do keep updates to the church details coming!’

Thank you, Don (and Cherry), from all of us at Affinity. You are an example to us of faithful, enduring service to the Lord and his people. May he continue to bless and encourage you and your family in the days ahead, for his glory.
